This morning, State Rep. Eric Johnson announced intentions to launch of the Young Texans Legislative Caucus (YTLC). This caucus will highlight issues of concern to students and young professionals under the age of 40 during the 83rd Session.

This is an excellent opportunity for student groups, such as Invest in Texas, to amplify their voice at the Capitol. With issues such as tuition regulation, guns on campus, admissions policies, in-state tuition for the undocumented, and others involving higher education, it is comforting to know that young people have one more avenue to communicate with members.

In a press release posted on Facebook, Johnson said,

The Young Texans Legislative Caucus will also provide legislators with a vehicle for engaging directly with the young residents of our state.”
